Club Notices

Thank you to those who attended the AGM on 25th November 2011 - your new Committee has now been posted on the website.  2012 fees were agreed at the AGM and are now displayed on the relevant page.

Urgently needed for the committee  - 'new blood' with great ideas. Do you think you could help run our swimming club by volunteering?  There are various roles available - please help us to help your children by volunteering to help, thereby spreading the load.  Lots of helpers means that one person doesn't have the impossible task of trying to do everything! Again, please see Val or Helen for details.

Gala Results are now available - under the News heading.

 

Presentation Evening: 9th December 2011, 7.00pm until late, and includes a buffet, presentations, and a Christmas Party.   Tickets are now available, priced £6.00 each - no entry without ticket.


Do you have any news or ideas for the website? Please let Helen know on any Wednesday, or send an email using the contact link above, and then the given email address.  Helen is currently building a new (and hopefully a more attractive, user-friendly) website which should be available in the New Year - or earlier if possible.

Did you know that we are an Access Organisation for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme?  You can complete two sections with us - Physical and Volunteering.  So, if you're between 13 and 25 (you have to complete your Gold by then), and want more information - speak to Helen on a Wednesday, or email using the contact link.

Both of our Junior sessions are almost full, although currently we have limited spaces available for SWIMMERS in the 7:15pm Junior session and the Senior session (over 16s) at 8:00pm.  Unfortunately, there is still a waiting list for NON-SWIMMERS in both Junior sessions.

There is now a Waiting List for swimmers for the 6.30pm session, which has proved to be very popular.

We are accredited with the ASA as a Swim 21 club, and have Sport England ClubMark for both swimming and diving.  We have some vacancies for diving at 8.00pm on Wednesdays and/or Fridays at 5.15pm.  Contact Val or Helen for further details.

Mission Statement
  • To ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn to swim, irrespective of colour, race, religion, ability or disability, gender, sexual orientation or social or economic background.
  • To ensure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy swimming as part of a healthy lifestyle.
  • In order to achieve this, fees will be kept to a minimum cost whilst still providing development opportunities for teachers, and on condition that the club remains viable.
  • To ensure that water safety is an integral part of all lessons at all ability levels.
  • To ensure that goals are realistic and achievable whilst still stretching participants physically and mentally - all goals should require practice over a period of time and not be instantly achievable.
  • To ensure that all members and parents are aware of pathways to other aquatic disciplines, and are given contact details if so desired.
